One of the aims of the Student Community Partnership is to work with the Council and the Universities to ensure all student related accommodation meets a high standard. The Council run a voluntary Accreditation Scheme for landlords which seek to encourage the upgrade of rented properties and ensure they comply with the various requirements of the Housing Act 2004.

The partnership encourages students to give priority to properties that are accredited and urges landlords to take responsibility and ensure their properties meet the requirements of the Accreditation Scheme.
