Combe Down

Photo of Combe DownCombe Down is a village suburb that sits on a ridge above and about 1.5 miles to the south of Bath city centre. It is generally a quiet and friendly area to live, though North Road can be a bit noisy. The area is residential but away from the city centre, enjoying more green spaces than other areas.

Accommodation is mainly semi-detached or terraced houses, many with gardens.

The area is popular with students who attend the University of Bath and has a range of local amenities. North Road contains a stretch of shops and local amenities and near the Village Green, Firs Field there is The Avenue which has a convenience store, gallery, deli and newsagent. There are local pubs within walking distance and a rugby union and cricket club. There is also a church as well as a GP surgery and dentist.
