Student Community Partnership
Student Volunteers from Bath Spa University launch Student Watch!Article Date: June 20, 2010 Students Volunteers from Bath Spa University launched a new Student Watch scheme on Sunday 20th June.
This event took place at Bath Police Station's Open day on Sunday 20th June from 10am-5pm where there were many attractions for the family, including Helicopter Flypast, visit the Cells and Underwater Search Unit, amongst other things.
This was a chance to find out more about the Student Watch scheme, which has been set up by a group of students volunteers with the support of Bath Spa University, the Police, SCP and the Council's Community Safety team.
The overall aim of Student Watch is to increase safety awareness amongst students living in halls and private accommodation, in the community, across Bath. Student Watch is a student-led scheme, where student volunteers throughout the next academic year will lead on a range of initatives to get the important message of personal and home safety accross to their fellow students.
This will hopefully reduce the numbers of students who are victims of crime whilst increasing student's safety awareness.
