All about Bath- Purple Flag
This year we will be featuring blogs from people who live and work in Bath so if you are new to the City you can find out a bit more about Bath. If you have an idea for a blog please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our first blog is about Purple Flag week from Jodie Smith:
It’s the start of Purple Flag week today! The Purple Flag Award is similar to ‘Blue Flags’ for the best beaches and ‘Green Flags’ for exceptional parks or green spaces. Bath was one of the first cities in the South West to achieve the award and we are pleased to announce that we have once again retained this accreditation for 2013! The award is based on past, present and proposed initiatives and is the ''gold standard'' recognising better, safer and the most appealing cities at night. The award also acknowledges the diversity of entertainment and hospitality that Bath has to offer.
Bath offers a fantastic night out for students – with a varied and exciting nightlife – from restaurants and bars to cinemas and music venues! Students can rest assured that Bath is a well managed night time destination. The police work together with other schemes such as Bath Nightwatch to ensure you have a fantastic night out! Friendly Taxi Marshals help you grab a cab at the end of the night and Street marshals are on hand should you need assistance. The city is not only for students but other visitors as well – older people, families and young children – so enjoy yourselves but remember the city is to share so don’t spoilt for others!
Have a great night out and remember it for all the right reasons – follow this link for more details: www.rememberlastnight.co.uk
