City Centre
No taxi fares to pay, every shop you could wish for on your doorstep including a big supermarket. Living in the centre of Bath has its advantages, being central means less hassle when getting to the shops during the day, or out to the pubs, clubs or restaurants at night.
The heritage city of Bath is steeped in tradition and living in the centre gives you an enormous sense of history and heritage, with the stunning architecture providing residents with a fantastic place to live. It has many places to visit, including the Cathedral and the Spa and is in close proximity to stunning parks such as Royal Victoria Park and Royal Crescent
The new Southgate Centre provides you with even more shops to choose from and with the cinema and theatre amongst other leisure activities you will never be short of something to do.

" I live in central Bath, by Pulteney Bridge. Yes it's more expensive, but I love it here - you're already in town (including being a 2 minute walk from the leisure centre), it feels very safe and you can go out for the night and walk home in 10 minutes.
It's a 20-30 minute walk up Bathwick Hill/North Rd - depending on how fit you are! It's actually a really nice walk once you get used to it; much cheaper, nicer and quite often faster than buses".
Getting around
Being in the city centre it is only a short walk to most amenities. The train station is located at the bottom end of town, near to the bus station. Bath has good rail links with the South Coast, the West Country, London and Bristol.
The Bus Station, opposite the train station, provides Bath with good links across the area, as well as to Bristol, Chippenham, Keynsham and outlying villages.
The 18 bus is a regular service that will take you between the city centre and the University of Bath every 20 minutes.
The SPA1 bus goes from the city centre to Bath Spa University via Brougham Hayes, Oldfield Park and Newbridge Road and operates every 20 minutes throughout the day.
The SPA2 bus goes from the city centre via Lower Bristol Road and operates every 20 minutes during peak times in the day and evenings.
The U18 will take you from the City Centre to the University of Bath. There is also the Spa Link service (term-time only) which leaves from Lower Bristol Road and links the Bath Spa University campuses Newton Park and Sion Hill.

There are several taxi companies in Bath, but the main taxi rank is along the side of the Abbey.
