Twerton

TwertonTwerton is on the outskirts of Bath. There are some students in Twerton, but most residents are families. The local shops are clustered together so it's very convenient and will cater for most of your needs.

Every Thursday an open air market is held in Bath City Football Club car park. Local shops and amenities include a café, take-away, bakery, butcher, chemist, supermarket, video rental store, and newsagent. There is also a computer training centre a community centre, youth centre and a church.

Student comment:

"Twerton is generally occupied by families. The area is quite nice, if hilly. There is a high street, containing a Co-op, Blockbusters, Chinese takeaway, pub and several other shops. Both First and Wessex Connect serve the area, a number five from either service will take you to Whiteway from the bus station in about thirty minutes. Having only used the First service, I can testify that it is reasonably quick and reliable."

Getting around

The number 5 bus runs every 10 minutes during the day from Twerton to the city centre, and then every 20 minutes at night.

Twerton isn't too far from Oldfield Park, so you could walk and pick up the 18 to get to the University of Bath or the SPA1 to get to Bath Spa University, or the U18 which goes to the University of Bath. This process can be very time consuming and inconvenient adding a lot of travelling time to your day! The area is also serviced by 20A and 20C services which are hourly and go to the city centre and the University of Bath.
